Lexus LFA Debuts in Tokyo

lexus_lfa_image Despite the slumping global economy, that hasn’t stopped automakers from producing expensive, excessive sports cars. Following launches of cars like the Nissan GT-R and the Audi R8 is Lexus, which unveiled its all-new LFA supercar this week at the Tokyo Auto Show.

Lexus is hoping that the LFA will cause consumers to look at the brand somewhat differently stresses Washington DC Lexus dealers. Compared to more performance-oriented brands such as Infiniti and BMW, the Lexus brand is a bit more conservative when it comes to styling and performance figures. The LFA, with its stunningly aggressively styling, over-the-top price tag, and expected high-performance credentials, will no doubt contribute to a new take on this established luxury brand.

Under the Lexus LFA’s hood is a 4.8-liter V10 engine that produces 552 horsepower. With a reported top speed of 202 mph, shoppers at Pohanka Honda say that it appears Lexus is making a formidable entry into the elite segment of supercars. With extensive use of lightweight materials, a six speed transmission with paddle shifters, and advanced construction that was all developed in-house by engineers at Toyota, Bossier City Used Cars suggests that the LFA seems poised to make quite the impact, and is rumored to also be the foundation for a Toyota Supra successor.

Priced from $375,000, the Lexus LFA supercar can soon be seen in the States at the upcoming SEMA aftermarket parts show in Las Vegas, as well as the LA Auto Show in December.
